Super Glue on a fissure?

Postby jay2502 » 29 Apr 2014, 11:24

i know it sounds ridiculous, i even think its ridiculous as im typing, but could it work?
i was reading about super glue being used to close wounds and being very successful, so i thought could it help a fissure?
i have a tear not over the anal opening but just above it. they wont operate on me, and i was reluctant anyway.
so would putting some superglue on it help matters?

im pretty desperate here, getting sick of it now, and have tried just about everything bar surgery.

Someone posted something on the anal fissure self help page (google for it) about using nu-skin on their fissure and it worked. I'd use a skin glue before super glue on that area. :)

Thanks I may well try that!
Little worried about the 'burning' sensation and whether that would do more harm than good?
Then again it can't be worse than when I used to put witch hazel on it :sadd:

I don't think superglue sticks to wet things. There is a glue called vetbond which sets under water (needs calcium salts to set though), and there is a version approved for human use, I think. How well would it work in your anus? I don't know.

However, I personally would not use any kind of glue inside my anus. How could you see what you are doing? Supposing you glued yourself shut?

I'm not sure if your fissure is internal or not, from what you say. If it's external, vetbond, or the human-approved equivalent, could work, but I think you'll need a brave friend to actually apply it.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

i today bought some ''new skin'' from boots, have applied it once and the pain was AGONIZING!! :groan:
though on the upside, the bad pain only lasts for about 2 minutes, then it becomes a sort of background pain for about half an hour before returning to normal.
i think i could put up with doing that once a day for a while...

If the product doesn't biodegrade after your injury has healed though, it could end up being another product like mesh that has really damaged the quality of life for many patients with hernias and bladder issues.
