I just wanted to come full circle on this diary. Six weeks appointment in mid-June went fine. Had a few small issues after that and went into the CRS, and he said everything was completely healed and if it happens again to let him know. Now, I am three and a half months out and doing great - no pain, no blood, no sitz baths, no wipes, regular diet, and virtually no creams (still need to use some A&D once in a while for some itchiness/rash in the area, but this is getting less frequent).

Things that I still do: a half cup of Miralax before bed (CRS said it's safe to take for life if it keeps me regular, but I'll try to cut back slowly); two teaspoons of Metamucil in the morning (the Walmart kind is the easiest to drink, in my opinion); and at least 120 ounces of water each day (prior to the AF, I was only getting 8 ounces at best per day).

Also, as a side note, the IBS symptoms have gotten better now that I am healed after surgery. I think part of the stress of having the problem was increasing the IBS symptoms. I have been able to run most days without issue (every once in a while it acts up, but I just accept it and turn my run into a walk on those days). I have to imagine that also the pain caused my brain to stop going the bathroom, so I would not fully empty my system, causing me to need to go an hour or two later. But, take heart and have patience! I remember feeling like I'd have to live with this situation for life, but now here I am!

Nearly 4 months post-surgery and still doing well! Have some dryness in the bum area still, but I'll take it due to the leaps and bounds I've made in the past months.
