Looking for support

Postby Apes » 28 May 2014, 09:52

24 days into Botox, having been feeling really great lately. My BMS have been easy to pass, long and soft. I can feel the BM pass the fissure but no pain.
So today I woke at 630 to one of those good BM, then at 10 I had to rush to the the bathroom as I felt a BM COMING ON BUT DELAYED IN GOING. I just made it and had another smooth no pain BM, but there was a little blood at the end of the stool and some blood on toliet paper when I blotted. I took my bath and no pain after, just the usual discomfort. I'm think that force from holding back a little caused blood from the sentinel tag.
Do you think this is a setback where the healing must start again? I'm sure I reassured other people in similar situation but when it comes to your self your never really sure.

No, I really don't think it would be classed as a set back.
I associate a set back with pain level increase. It sounds like the Botox is doing its job for you and stopping your sphincter muscles from spasming for hours afterwards, and that's exactly what we need for fissure healing!
I bet tomorrow you will be blood free again!

I'm getting by thank you apes. I have had a bit of an upset tummy for the last couple of days, and it's made me sorer than usual. I'm just waiting to get a date through for my surgery. I will email the crs secretary tomorrow I think to hurry things along. Things just take so long to go through here in the UK.... Ugh!

I think a 2/3 out of ten is good..... Hopefully tomorrow it will be right down again.

Getting on a plane today. Had my morning BM, soft and painless with a
Little blood on toilet paper. I'm going to think the lack of pain is my guide to healing and not the blood.

I agree, Apes. I don't think a little blood is anything to worry about. It sounds as though you are doing very well.
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

Apes,
I'm just going to repeat what others have! Judge your healing in terms of pain intensity and not bleeding!
Unless the bleeding is prolonged or heavy, chances are you doing just fine. This is such a common worry so try not to worry about it too much :)

Thanks ETO, every comment is helpful. As an update, things can change so much, the bleeding has mostly stopped. I say mostly cause last night I was icing my hemmy (not after a BM) and there was a spec of blood on the paper towel. I have no idea if that is part of the hemy, fissure or sentinel tag. The last couple of days have been weird, after my 2 morning BM I HAVE BEEN HAVING minor spasm and tiny burning sensation or maybe nerve pain. Even though the spasm pain is only a 2, it worries me because it is the same spasm (pain around coccyx and into left testi) that I had before the Botox. The pain at that time was 12 out of 10. The Botox is in its 26 day so it should still be working. It's just weird that this has cropped up. It's not really interfering with my life but it is a annoying.

Apes,

Sorry to hear about your issues when trying to heal. Hopefully it is still in the healing process and just some remember me pain.

I did not know that someone could get a fissure from a colonoscopy until I read your post. How often does it happen?

Wish you the best.
