Apes,
I've never had those painful spasms that people on this forum talk about (I had them when I had a hemorroidectomy 5 years ago), more stinging, burning during BM and dull pain (burning) after BM which lasts for hours, sitting makes it worse. It is tender to the touch and when I wipe with wet TP/ wipes, or add water with the squirt bottle, it stings. The exam I had yesterday was very uncomfortable...

Jbl22424,
Who is your doctor and where is he or she located? I wonder if there is a CRS in my area that specializes in Pelvic floor disorders?

Sugarspice,

Did you have any tests to determine it or just by the doctors exams? I was reading your forum and thought that you weren't a good candidate for LIS (excuse me if I am wrong), why did the doctor/ you decide to continue with it?

Good question! He did it because I was in so much pain and really didn't have much choice. Instead of doing standard LIS he did a tailored one in relation to the type of fissure I had and where it was etc. An outstanding CRS.

My GP guessed what it was initially, then when I went to my CRS he looked externally but couldn't do an internal exam due to my pain levels. I was literally crawling round on my hands and knees by then. He said he would put me under a GA and examine me then, he said he would do botox if it was a fissure, which is what he suspected it was. I guess he knew because no hem pain (and I've had those nasty internal thrombossed ones!) I ever had came anyway near to this pain level, also by descirbing my symptoms I think he knew.

Soey, I had Botox 53 days ago. I would say no incontinence but when I have the urge to go I need to get to the bathroom immediTley. No holding anything in. I guess I have passed gas a couple of times without knowing it was coming. Sometimes when I sneeze I pass gas. All in All it's not a problem. The best thing I really feel the fissure is healed/healing. Back to a normal life. Keeping with good diet, fiber supplement and miralax. I have been cutting back on miralax. Also keeping very clean bathroom habits and bathing after BMS. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.

Hi SS,
So glad to hear you are doing well after LIS... So pleased you are on the way to getting your life back.
Can I ask, did you have a pressure test? Just intrigued as I know some people who have LIS on here don't and some do? Just confusing and I think different CRS have different views. Xxxx
