Yes, he does answer most of them within a day or two. He hasn't answered today though.

Thanks ETO..... Hopefully tomorrow will be much better.

Asdf.... Can you see your fissures still? Did the flap not cover them?? What has gone wrong for you??

so the fissure that I had left from the hemmie operation was at about 11 oclock, just off center. The Crs covered it with a V flap, with edges at about 10 oclock and 12 oclock. The 12 oclock suture line broke early on and the wound never closed... My fissure(s) were always internal. i can't see it at all.

So what happened to the flap of skin that was covering the fissure? Did it just shrink away?
My fissure was always internal... I couldn't see it. It certainly isn't now!!!

Pain not as bad as yesterday.... But on a quick inspection ( which I try not to do ) it looks like a bit is swollen. TMI .... But I have decided to skip the honey today.... Wear a long dress... And go commando. Fresh air might do it some good!!!

Haha what the hell. Fresh air never hurt anything. Go for it.

According to my CRS, the flap healed in place, but the 12 o'clock suture line never closed, and that is now my fissure. I'm convinced it is because he allowed for a suture line in the posterior midline, which is the most dangerous spot to make a wound. I told him I wanted to either keep the suture lines entirely lateral, or make a flap big enough to cover the midline and have the suture line around 1-2 o'clock, but of course he didn't do what I asked.

Did he tell you why he did not comply with your request asdf?
Yes, go for OMB. :) At this point there is probably nothing I wouldn't do if I thought it might help!

I never flat out confronted him about it... He initially said the suture line was at "12:30" but other CRS have since told me it's what they consider dead-on posterior midline, aka 12 o'clock. Because of the placement of the old wound, I'm not sure there was much he could have done to avoid having the suture line be where it was, so I never grilled him for it... Now that the wound is completely midline, the new suture lines should both be lateral, which should have a better chance of healing, assuming the flap holds and nothing else goes wrong...

If it helps, go without the underwear when around the house whenever possible.

I will use colace, and was considering trying miralax too for the first few days. I usually poop with not too much effort, so I don't want to overdo it, so I think I am going to experiment in the next few weeks to try to find a good combo to start a few days before surgery.

Mirilax is the one I have settled for, out of the ones I have tried it produces the most reliably soft stool. X
Not long to go now is it...3 weeks or so?? I'm really really keeping everything crossed this fixes you for good! X

Yep 3 weeks... feels like years. Hoping that this will be the last time. And hoping to provide some hope for you as well that we can both heal completely.
