Hey, if it works, I'll see if my gynecologist will prescribe it for me.
Last time I saw him, we discussed menopause. I'm not menopausal yet, but it's in the pretty near future. We talked about the fact that I can't take calcium supplements for bone health because they constipate me, which is obviously bad news with an anal fissure. I asked about HRT, and he seemed fine with it, given my general healthiness.
When I mentioned HRT to my GP a few weeks later, she had this knee-jerk "HRT bad" response.
So when the time comes, I'll be sure to ask Dr Gyno and not Dr GP!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
