If you decide to go ahead, I would say it's crucially important to choose the right surgeon to do this work. Also, personal factors like IBS and other things probably contribute to the success of the op, so again, a good surgeon will check those things out and make sure you are a good candidate for surgery.
Whatever you do, don't have a doctor do it, who doesn't believe you should do it!
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!
