Had LIS yesterday

Postby msimon » 14 Nov 2014, 23:28

So I worked up the courage to get the surgery and from the moment I woke up (even with long acting freezing in) have been in complete agony. I can hardly move! I also had some cauterization of at least one hemmie done as well as the skin tag excision. Where it really hurts today is the LIS site, I think. I am having such spasms and can't even pass gas! It comes down with such force but I can't move my butt to have it come out! I thought this surgery was supposed to help that. I am on 2 extra strength acetaminophen around the clock and ketorlac/torodol as well and I feel like they are sugar pills. I am also seeping quite a bit and it's starting to smell a bit fishy. Can't sleep either. I keep feeling like I have to have a BM and have losts of swelling. Please tell me this gets better! Right now I am so full of regret and am trembling with pain and anxiety. Just want to jump off a bridge as nothing else seems to help :sadd:

:smilyhug: Did they give you anything stronger for pain? It seems they should have. Have you tried soaking in very warm water in the tub. It might relax things a bit. Be sure to call your doctor and tell them you need some relief. It will get better. I am sure there is some swelling. So sorry you are so uncomfortable.

Thanks all. Still in agony here. I think my entire pelvic floor and what is left of my sphincter are spasming like crazy. Plus, new cuts down there and massive swelling has left me bed ridden. No stronger pain meds for me (could not get a hold of Doctor and then it was the weekend) and had to lessen my NSAIDS on account of tummy troubles. Sure hope I turn the corner on this soon as I was really not prepared for such extreme pain.

Are you thinking about calling the doctor's office today? Maybe they could give you Vicodin? Or maybe a muscle relaxer like valium would help? I hope they can do something to ease your pain!

Can't seem to get a hold of anyone. It's weird. The spasms after my BM were to die from but this afternoon I feel uncomfortably loose. Like just anything might fall out. Anyone experience this? Does it get better? Very unsettling to say the least....
