Well, the flap has healed nicely, but I do have another fissure ( the one on the outside). He removed a couple of polyps that were just above the new fissure... Said they may be pulling and fed laying healing.
I pretty much slept for the rest of the day and night. Had a shower this morning and noticed packing up my bum?? No one told me I had this?? Was a shock to say the least. Any advice on how one would remove it the best way??

I'm feeling very up and down about this news. On one hand the internal fissure is fixed and flap is all healed, on the other hand I have this other one to deal with. He has given me some diltiazem to use... But last time I used it I developed a sore rash. Ugh.

Hi OMB. Glad it's over. You probably have it all sorted now, but if it were me, I would do a warm bath - or a Sitz bath on the loo - and let it come out that way. Big hug!

OMB, I'm so glad your flap healed. Wretched that you have another fissure. If the dilt gives you a rash, will you try nifedipine or nitro?
You are such a pro at dealing with this, by now. I really wish you didn't have to though.
Hugs to you.

Chiming in before I chime out OMB

Sorry to hear of your other fissure, hang tough though
were pulling for you to make it through this difficult time.

Maybe you'll find something that works for you with the EGW
health counsels. Please do continue to press on valiantly.

Remember a positive attitude is just as much a part of healing
as any amount of dilt, botox, nitro and the likes.

take care now, ....... :smilyhug:

I managed to get the gauze out in a warm bath. It hurt!!!
Have had diorrhea today... But I expect that after an anaesthetic now, it happens every time! I'm sore and stingy so I'm spending the day in bed!!

:smilyhug: Glad the packing is out and the appointment is over for you. Did your doctor say why you developed another fissure? After all your efforts and still end up with a fissure! My heart goes out to you. Do you feel as though the flap was just a lot of needless pain since you still have a fissure anyway? Does he think you would have developed this second fissure even if you had not had the flap or do you think it is directly related to having the flap? I can't imagine how you are feeling. I am so sorry OMB. Hope these questions are okay to ask. If not just don't bother to reply and I understand. Hopefully this is just a bump in the road and this will heal quickly and you can be living a fissure free life. Sending some big hugs your way. :smilyhug:

OMB, I'm so sorry to hear you still have a fissure. It must feel so disheartening. :hugs: There is at least some good news though. It's nice to know I am sure that your flap surgery was a success. Maybe it will be helpful in the long run. I am curious though, was this fissure you have now the one the ER Doctor gave you not long after your flap surgery? What did your Doctor think the prognosis and treatment of that one should be?

That's interesting that the general gives you diarrhea. I too experienced that. I always thought it made people go the other way. Well, I hope you have a good restful day and that things start to improve for you really soon.

As for the diltiazem, I don't know why any Doctors use this stuff. There are alternatives that are less irritating. Arg.

Hi. I'm afraid I have no answers for you as to why or how I got the other fissure. I don't think it was given to me by the ER dr, as I think I already had it. I think it happened more or less straight after the flap surgery.
Mr w hasn't really commented on it, he seemed to feel it was no big deal!! I think it's something I need to talk over with him. I can't think straight after an anaesthetic for days. I think I will email him later in the week.
I had a little look today after my shower... OMG.... I'm bruised black and blue all over my bum. So much for a gentle look!!
Feeling very sore, still have very loose stools... And still suffering the effects of the anaesthetic!
