Omb, well that's great if it at least looks better! My crs can't see my pain either, so I get you. No hemorrhoids right? Could just be that it's even open a little, or just the new tissue- mine is super super sensitive even to the touch.

I wish it were a more positive update too OMB. Sometimes I don't the even the doctors really know why pain persists but how I know that is does. I do think time, and a lot of it, helps in all aspects. But nothing heals slower than that area. If there is even a bit of a non healed area it can be so painful. And I do think any bit of scar tissue is a factor as well. It seems to me when scar tissue in that area is stretched even a little it really hurts. But I don't give up hope because given enough time the body is an amazing thing. Sending hugs and hope and some happiness that might find it's way into you day.

Hopeful..... I think it may be the new tissue. It looks whity/pinky colour. I haven't touched it.... I daren't .... But that's where I feel the pain. A few months ago it was a sore weeping scab... So there is a big improvement on the look.... Just not in the level of pain I'm experiencing.
W's, .... Yeh.... I think it's just time.... And lots of it! I have had two surgeries in the area within a few months, so I just need to be more patient.... But time rolls on and I'm just as bad as ever.

Have been to drs.
She has put me on gabapentin and is getting me into the pain clinic. I'll see how it goes. I go back and see her weds just to check I'm ok on the tabs.

I've also booked in to see an acupuncturist in the new year.... Hoping it will help with pain and stress!!

OMB x

Thankyou W's xxxxxxxxxx

OMB, I've been reading your diary, and hoping things will improve for you very soon. Going to a pain clinic sounds like a great step forward. I really hope so anyway. I wonder if the pain actually hinders healing?
I do hope it's helpful for you that that you'll be better next year.

:smilyhug: :smilyhug:
Nifedipine/lidocaine, no help
Diltiazem, effective, but caused major rash
Nitroglycerine, effective.
Topical estrogen for final healing.
Gentle heat to bottom - pain relief, muscle relaxant
Kondremul mineral oil
Time - lots of time.
Status - Healed!

Well so far I haven't noticed a difference with the gabapentin. I upped my dose to 200mg last night. The aim is to get to 300 as my dr says that is the recommended dose. They make me feel very sleepy in the mornings.
I still feel like there is a burning stick stuck up my bum. I'm really not sure what's going on ... I can see the external fissure I gained after the flap has healed and has turned into a white line... But sometimes I can see shallow breaks in the skin just by it. I'm not sure what's going on inside though. The healed fissure is very sensitive, and often feels like it rubs and gets sore when I walk.

Just waiting for my other appointments.

I'm so sorry your flap didn't work. It almost sound like the doctor didn't leave enough skin to accomodate the stretching the area has to do. I hope someone can help you. I know how awful the pain is and how depressing the situation makes you feel. Sending prayers. Suzy
