UK people - prior approval issues? (funding)

Postby Fissurefrustration » 01 Jan 2015, 14:53

Hi all, I'm going to see my GP on the 17th to demand to see a CRS as I am in so much pain I simply can't cope anymore. pain when I stand, sit, move, walk, or poop. I however have heard from some I may face funding issues to get prior approval to see a CRS as it isn't routinely funded under the NHS. Anyone else had this issue or any advice how to assure I get funding approval?

thanks

Dilatiazem

Funding was never raised as an issue for me, I did have to wait a very long time before I saw NHS CRS though

No, I have never experienced any trouble getting a refferal through the NHS. I have gone through 3 different crs's at 3 different hospitals too.... And I may still yet change again if I'm not happy with my next plan from my current crs.

I'm sure you will not have to push, just explain this it is genuinely ruining your life with pain and anxiety, and the best topical s can only be prescribed by a consultant in a hospital.
