I am now two months post op and it has healed up nicely except now I have a sentinel tag (I think that is what it is called). It bleeds sometimes and it is sensitive. The surgeon said if it become bothersome he puts a stitch around the base of it until it falls off and says it can be rather painful....will this ever end????? :(

Hello everyone!! Well, it's been a year since my LIS surgery and I was doing great but with all my unpredictable bowel issues I believe I have reopened or created a new fissure.....I am so disheartened. I am trying to heal it at home to avoid another surgery.
I have to have a hysterectomy soon so trying desperately to get this resolved....I am doing things to soften my stool to keep that going but it just is so annoying....wonder why I developed another one and it's in the same area as before...
Can you guys cheer me up? :)

So sorry to read that you're worried. If it's any help, my CSR told me that it is unlikely that I'll get another fissure after my LIS in a couple of weeks (YIKES!), but that if I do, it should be easier to heal because the sphincter will always be looser than it used to be.

Good luck and I hope that things improve soon.
Fissure since about 2007

Diltiazem for two years - didn't work well

Well, it's gone from bad to worse.. I am right back where I started over a year ago and I am so so disheartened. :(
I have an emergency appointment with the surgeon tomorrow morning. I am in horrific pain. I don't even want to pass loose stools. :(
I have a hysterectomy scheduled in three weeks so I hope there is something I can do...
So down.

massive hugs cshelloysters I'd suggest 50mg tramadol every 4 hours no more than 8 in 24 hours just see how that goes.
it's unbelievable how much this can affect life :( we all know how you feel x
Suffering since June 2013

Methods tried:
GTN cream - migraines!
Manuka Honey / Coconut oil / Aloe
tag excision X 2, botox x 3
Dilatiazem
dilatation 2 X daily + Retin-C Vitamin Scar Treatment Oil 2 X daily - best thing ever.
Now pain free 2/7/21

I have surgery again.. this Wednesday. I'm stuck at home right now. I've bit several holes in a towel when I use the bathroom. I'm in so much pain.

Sorry, I don't know about Tramadol. If it is, it is not nearly as bad as opiates, I have read. I used Torodol. Are you getting a second LIS?

I'm so sorry you are suffering so much. Pain sucks. When I am in bad pain I try to talk to God and know that it will pass. I try to think of it as a separate thing. I know this sounds like BS but that's what helps me. Even if I do it terribly. This WILL pass. Hang int here till Wednesday!!
