Are you taking stool softeners? I have to keep mine like toothpaste.

That's amazing that your incision site closed so quickly. 9 weeks later and mine still oozes a bit and burns after BMs. I don't get it. It must be like tissue paper down there. Do you know if you had an open or closed LIS? Could it be your other muscles not allowing a larger BM? 1 cm seems like a lot to cut!

Yes, but my stools get harder about ten days before i get my period. Very frustrating. I had an open LIS(i think), my CRS said the incision site is rarely a problem(with her patients that is). 9 weeks? Oh lord, thats terrible! So now You have to battle both the fissure and the pain from the incision site? I would demand talking to my CRS asap if I were You! 1 cm is alot, and I'm shocked I didnt get temporary incontinent. This only proves that I was right all along when I said my sphincter was too tight, but my CRS told me it wasnt..
What kind of stool softener do You use? I use lactulose, but it's not working too well at the moment. I'm from norway, so I dont think we have miralax, movicol or anything like that

My mom is a nurse btw, and she says if you've had an infection, the healing will slow down. And if the antibiotics doesnt work in 2-3 days, Ask for another kind. That is if You still have some kind of infection. Any cut /wound that gets infected will heal very slowly compared to a 'healthy' wound.

Hello again! Well,it's been 4 weeks since I had the surgery today, and I can feel things finally getting better! Still have those 'stingers' from time to time, and some burning after a BM, but I'm doing sooo much better than before surgery. I can actually start doing normal things again. I hope and pray that it will continue in the right direction..

How are you, msimon? Has things gotten better?

That is great news Soey! I hope things continue to go so well for you. When is your follow up with your Doctor?

My condition has really deteriorated and I am anxiously awaiting another surgery, this Friday (Feb.6). CRS wants to go investigate why my infection persists. I am praying he does not find a fistula but I am suspicious of one. At a minimum, it is an unresolving abcess that needs to be unroofed :( which will mean more pain short term but hopefully a resolution long term. Thanks for asking :)

no follow up needed. I was told to give her a call if there was any problems, but hopefully I wont have to.

I cant believe you're still struggling with that infection! Infections are very painful, and I'm surprised your doctor hasnt done anything about it sooner! Best of luck today! I'll be thinking of you! kepp me/us posted on how things turn out :)

Soey - a little while ago you asked about stool softners because yours didn't seem to be working... same thing happened to me; they seemed to do the trick for the first couple months but gradually became less effective. I use a magnesium supplement now and it does wonders. (Just be careful not to overdo it because then it becomes too loose/watery.) I take 250 on the days when I know my eating was right; 500 if I know I didn't get as much fiber as I should have.

Good luck at your appointment today, msimon!
