Do you avoid all dairy?

Postby Mae » 18 Mar 2015, 20:22

Do you guys avoid all dairy? I have a daily yogurt but I'm wondering if I should stop because maybe the cons of dairy outweigh he pros of the probiotics. I also wonder if sour cream is okay. I guess it's probably different for everyone.

● Cycle of healing and reappearing
● Using conservative methods (metamucil, managing anxiety)

I would say it is different for everyone. Dairy doesn't bother me at all and I eat quite a bit of it. Probiotics are not to be underestimated but you can take them in supplement form. You will get a lot more that way too.

If you think you are having digestive issues, you could try keeping a food diary to see if the food relates to your symptoms...

I gave up dairy last year to see if it was causing my chronic diarrhea and it wasn't. It has never affected my fissure though, so I guess that everyone is different on that front (I consume a lot of dairy too).

I basically stopped eating everything but greens, lean meat for protein and fruit. I have to say that it did nothing for me. Nothing. I also had allergy test to see if I had a gluten/wheat/etc problem but all came back ok. It really didn't seem to matter what I ate. I consider myself on the healing path and basically eat what I want in moderation. But I focus on getting lots of greens and veggies with each meal and take softener/magnesium etc. I do not eat processed or fast food. Dairy seems to be fine for me. I do watch cheese intake at times to avoid constipation and I make sure to eat things to balance it out. It's such a mind game, I feel sometimes!!
