Where to buy diltiazem or nifedipine ointment?

Postby Fizzbang » 22 Jan 2016, 12:19

After advice on this forum, I asked my doctor about diltiazem or nifedipine ointment for my fissure. She agreed it would be helpful but said that they have to be made up by a chemist and are not covered by insurance, so are expensive.

Is there an alternative? Can I buy online, if so - what to buy?

Thanks!

Yes, they have to be compounded by a pharmacist. My plan did not pay when it was made up with lidocaine (as lidocaine can be bought over the counter here). When it was only nitro plus ointment, they allowed it.
