Hi everyone,

I'm at 29 year old female and I have been told that I have anal fissures. I have had haemerroids in the past after giving birth but they were relatively uneventful. I have had the fissures for 3 weeks now and find the pain constant and debilitating. I guess I feel like this could be a place where everyone can empathise with what is happening and also suggest ways of managing the pain. I start a new full time job in less than 2 weeks and I'm praying for a cure or at least to get through the day without horrific pain. Any suggestions would be amazing. I have also noticed that some of you have been dealing with this for years and i honestly take my hat off to you.

I really look forward to your responses!

Love to you all,

Kylie

Welcome Kylie!
You'll find many people on here who share similar experiences. A few newer moms as well experiencing fissures too who can relate to being a parent, working and having this pain in the rear experience.

Who were you diagnosed by? Were you able to see a colorectal specialist? There are several creams they often prescribed that are compounded ointments that assist with healing. Some doctors will also prescribe a lidocaine cream either mixed in or separately from my understanding for pain.

You'll read a lot of good and repetitive advice on this forum as well about sitz or regular baths a few times a day. These also help promote flow to the area for healing and really helps with the pain.

Welcome again! Sorry you had to find us do to these fissures but you're in a great and friendly place.

Hey there Kylie, Welcome :)

I'm not a mother, however I relate to the pain in the rear! Manitourose has suggested some good stuff above, have you tried any suppliments? Have you tried any GTN cream from the GP or you could try medi-honey from the pharmacy - that helped me greatly. As always - Sitz baths are quick, easy and effective pain relief.

I like sitting on a hot bottle at night too post BM i feel it calms the spasms.

Thanks for your replies!

I feel like I have tried everything! My GP currently have me in endone, panadiene forte and nurofen to ease the pain. Im finding the hot baths work a treat. My next port of call is magnesium supplements and coconut oil etc. I'm finding that any of the ointments are creating more discomfort than anything.

Again thank you for your replies.

Look forward to more!
