Dealing with a chronic Anal Fissure

Postby Bst2011 » 08 Apr 2016, 07:27

Hi all,
I have been dealing with AF since 2011, off and on most of the time. Last 2 years I never had an issue but I keep a fiber diet and taking Metamucil to keep my stool soft.

When I was in the US , nitro bid ointment was my salvation, I will use it for 5 days and fissure is gone. When it got infected I would use cipro in addition to nitro for 10 days and good bye to the AF.

I lived in west Africa and north Africa and middle east and I tried while there Diltiazem and other medications but they were not as effective as nitro.

I brought some nitro and cipro with me ( I travel with those medications because some part of the world they don't have nitro ...).

Anyone have tried cipro and Flagyl together?
Thanks for your help

Hello,

Unfortunately I never used those together, only nitro or diltiazem separately. None really helped me, so glad you find an aid with them

Flagyl and Cipro are both antibiotic, though possibly treat different things, while nitro is a dilator of blood vessels, which helps a fissure heal by increasing blood flow.

Just to be sure, I would check with your doctor, Bst2011 about using them. Also, try our search engine.
