Ive recently had a fissurectomy and a sphincterotomy. Tomorrow will be 2 weeks. I love reading the success stories, because they give me hope, which I really need at the moment. I'm curious how long or if you had any significant amount of drainage after the procedure. If so, how did you avoid getting the drainage everywhere? I'm still having pain (significant enough to take prescription meds and ibuprofen) and decent amount of drainage with occasional bleeding. I'm just wondering if this is normal. I go back to my surgeon next week, but I'm paranoid that I'm developing a fistula due to the drainage. Curious if anyone else has experienced this.

Hi Payne. I had a fissurectomy, botox and skin tag removal, no sphincterotomy. I experienced some drainage (pus like, no blood) for probably 3 weeks to a month after surgery. It was light. Just some spotting so I wore a thin maxi pad. The doctor said it was completely normal. I remember only a little blood spotting during the first couple of BMs, after that no more blood. I hope you get some reassurance that you're healing properly at your doctor appointment next week!

Hi monarc,

Thank you for sharing this story.

I have some question for you - can I post these here?

Came out of surgery today.

Thanks!
