I also have the problem of accumulated wind just aggravating my situation more. Seems things get so tight that not even wind will pass unless I put GTN. Yesterday was a little tough for me and I had to put GTN 3 to almost 4 times. Stools arent coming out as soft as before so its just making things worse. I feel my body might be getting resistant to GTN and the stool softeners. Not a good sign but hey LIS might be coming up soon so it may just be in the nick of time.

Yes it's not great when you can't even get wind out. I must admit that was something the Botox helped really well with after the second week. I'm going to try and give it another week then I'm going to ring my surgeon as surely if the LIS had worked I shouldn't still be having trouble passing wind.
Yes won't be long now till you are on the road to recovery

Well today has been another good day but mainly because I have not had a BM yet...might just have half a loperamide with dinner tonight....if I'm feeling brave lol.
Pain has been around a 2 with an increase to a 5 when sat for too long....wish I could come home at lunch for a bath....but that's not going to happen and I only managed one application of cream today too.
I'm really interested and scared to see how bad the spasms will be after my next BM...if they are bad I think I May phone the surgeon up as surely the spasms at least should have stopped once he cut the muscle.

I also think they should have stopped. It could all depend on how liberal they were with the incision.

That's my main worry that he just didn't cut enough and I have to all this again...not fun at all.

See what he says. If he didnt cut enough that could be why you still get spasms. If he has to cut again, it couldnt be worse than what youve already been through. It may even be better.

I'm def phoning in the morning can't cope with still having to force out any wind I have surely that shouldn't be happening now either. Maybe I will have to have it again but rather that than still having spasms

Hi mpb!

Sorry I've not checked in for a few days, but it was my birthday at the weekend, so had lots of family round...even had some alcohol for the first time in 6months, but paid for it yesterday morning! :-(

Sorry to hear you've still got problems, hopefully when you speak to your surgeon tomorrow you'll get the reassurance you need. Think you said before the op 'make sure you cut enough..' so I'd be surprised if he/she has been too conservative...

Anyway, I'll keep everything crossed for you it's good news...

Hi MR F,
Glad you enjoyed your birthday,..i miss my bottle of Zinfandel on a weekend soooo much but there is no way I would let a drop of alcohol pass my lips till this thing is healed lol.
That's one reason I'm worried as he had said he probably wouldn't cut the length of the fissure and I have read that if they don't the spasms can stay and in some cases actually be worse...I don't even know what else he would offer....as there is no way I'm staying in this much pain....I can't even pass wind properly anymore which is way worse than before the LIS. Just hoping he calls me back lol

Hang in there. You're taking action and getting this dealt with - moving closer to being 100% healed! It's gonna happen for you, and you're gonna come out of this one HELL of a tough cookie.
