I know Hun...I don't think you can understand the pain and the mental torture unless you have been through it.
Without this forum and my crohns forums I would have found it so much harder to hold onto what little sanity I have left

Jim, that has always been my issue I'm sure I would be healed by not if not for the multiple trips to the toilet.
I literally cannot describe the agony of going 6 times I would, if not for my children quite happily end it at those times.
So went to the docs this morning gave her back the stupid Valium and we are agreed on trying gabapentin and amitryptiline together to see if we can't get the spasms to stop then at least try and get the signals to stop reaching my brain lol. I will take these today and tomorrow then try a half a bowl of soup and see how much pain I'm in when I go to the toilet.
She wasn't concerned at all that I'm not eating....apart from telling me to drink milky drinks....errrr hello lactose intolerant here....which is a bit worrying as I have lost another 6 kilos in 6 days but hey hoh let's see if these tablets work, as I can't see my consultant till the 12th.

According to my GP it helps with what she called irritable nerve pathways that have becomes hyper sensitised due to pain...I did have it for a while and it did help but my bowel didn't like it hence the lower dose combined with gabapentine

MPB Ok I did hear that about helping with nerve pain. Those nerve ending down there are soooo sensitive so makes sense. I hear though that they make you pretty tired as a side effect so maybe it will help with sleep

Yes I only take it a night and it did help me sleep....if it helps me sleep through the agony that comes after a BM then I will be very grateful

MPB. Yes I took it a couple times to see what it would do and it conked me out. Not sure if it helped with any nerve calming . I may try it if My pain levels shoot up just to see. Thanks for the input on this

Well I sat down at work today and the pain didn't go above a 3 even though I had to sit still for two hours so plainly if I don't have a BM it's only discomfort that I feel....I really really want a colostomy now....went out with friends after work to an Ice cream parlour they had lots of waffles and pancakes, hot chocolate fudge cake and warm apple pie....me....what did I have....oh I treated myself big time...I had a blooming cup of ginger tea
