Alyssa! I appreciate you sharing this information with all of us. I will admit, I am nervous to have a Botox injection. I am a lot better then I use to be but I have the same symptoms as mamafizz (and you did as we have discussed before).

How long have you been free of all sensations? Or do you still feel something? I just need a little bit of encouragement to pursue this. Did physical therapy help at all? Thank you Alyssa for coming back to guide all of us!

I know you are not addressing to me.
..... but here its my expirience:

After three months of pain and blood I went to phase of scratching and periodical (lasting less than a second) needle like pain. Then after a few weeks wverything went back to normal. Since then.... now about 45 days everything its ok but still some times when the BM its a bid hard (dont use softeners any more) come some faint steins of blood. Still may be am overreacting I do use in that case (happend twice since then) the decatrin stuff which has an imidiate wound healing effect.

Hope that helps be patient and dont panic
Wish overcoming it soon

I was nervous about Botox too; I was more nervous about having an accident at work but it never happened. I had three different Botox sessions done, one was to the sphincter, 2nd session was to the pelvic floor muscles, 3rd session was to the sphincter and pelvic floor. Physical therapy did not really help me with relaxing the muscles but Botox did.

Alyssa, Was it the inner sphincter? I had two shots there, which is what allowed the fissure to heal. Did it inflame any inside hemmrohoids or veins, as it def did this and now waiting that out, told it could take a few months for that to heal now... sheesh...

ok great,I am just trying to figure this out. I do not have pain when I go, but it it still tight all of the time, spasms better, do you know how to tell the difference between inner sphincter vs levator muscles ? I looked at the graph but those seem to be a sling all the way to the front, My issue seems to be almost all just that rear area. My pain is better days I do not go, but there is this knot seems higher up, but hard to tell.. Even internal hems have similar symptoms, how to tell which is what?

I can't help with this.. but the pelvic floor physical therapist can tell you what muscles are affected
