Have you tried cutting out alternatives and relying just on diet to get you moving?

If I feel the need to have a BM every day I add a cup of high fibre bran in the morning with honey and peanut butter and up my water intake in the morning. Midmorning I snack on some prunes or kiwis with oatmeal biscuits, lunch I usually have a light starch(pasta or rice) with a protein and vegetable. Mid afternoon snack a piece or 2 of fruit and dinner is basically whatever is cooking. When I was suffering badly, for dinner Id settle for a vegetable soup.

Most importantly, make sure that you get at least 3L(0.8 gallons) of water in throughout the day to keep it all soft and avoid all processed foods.

I found that by doing this Im pretty regular.

I don't think the throbbing is normal so to speak as lots of people are totally pain free from week 2/3. My CRS says it's to do with the amount of times I can go sometimes 4x an hour and how acidic my BMs can be that is causing the continued pain.
I also would try and cut down on the stool softener perhaps and maybe see what happens

Is it possible the fissure re opened? At this stage I feel like what was the point of the surgery. I also had a hemrodectomy. so that could be causing some pain too

I can assume the hemmorhoidectomy is probably whats causing the most pain as the cutting done is pretty extensive. I agree with MPB. Talk to your CRS to clarify exactly what is happening.

Surgery shouldn't impact how you can go...are you feeling that you can't complete the BM or that you have to go more often. What did your CRS say and are you still using lots of supplements to help you go
It's only natural that the more you go the more it hurts...I spend most of my time working out how to just have one BM a day

I see the CRS Wednesday.
It's just that I can go a little bit at a time, like 4/5 times in the matter of 3 hours. Some days it's hard to leave the house because I feel like I have to keep going.
I'm still take stool softners and sometimes miralax. I think miralax is a double edge sword, will make you go but then i have to go all the time.
