Post-LIS healing

Postby Danny-boy » 30 May 2017, 07:15

I had LIS 8 days ago (after suffering from a fissure for almost 18 months).
In the beginning, the post-surgery pain was slightly worse than the original pain before the surgery.
With time, the pain went down, and now it is roughly the same as the original fissure pain, but without the "tight" feeling.
Two questions:
1. Do I have reason to be optimistic? (i.e: Is this a standard kind of healing timetable?)
2. Should I be using Nifedipine and/or Lidocaine and/or baby-nappy-cream?
Many thanks

Yes you have lots of reasons to be optimistic you are only 8 days out and that's not long at all. Things will still be a bit swollen hence the tightness and your fissure won't have had chance to heal yet.
Everyone is different and heals at different rates but you seem to be doing well and it's only onwards and upwards from here
Good luck

Thank you so so much for your encouraging words.
But should I be using Nifedipine / Lidocaine / Nappy-cream?

You can still use your cream lots of people do after their LIS.

But which cream would be best in this situation?
Nifedipine?
Lidocaine?
Nappy-cream?

Probably depends on what your feeling I guess the nifedipine will help the lidocaine with numb and the nappy cream is probably best used before a BM as a barrier
