I had a fissurectomy and LIS...it was not bad!

Thank you all for the encouraging stories, I think surgery is my last and only option left so these stories make me feel mich better!

Had a 2nd opinion today... got some good tips from this doctor. I have a sentinel pile that will need to be removed but I'm hoping to heal the fissure by eliminating dairy and following a more strict diet (basically diarrhea has been causing my issues and i need to get back to regular BMs).. she recommended cotton placed on the anus to keep the area dry throughout the day, I Gave it a whirl and while it felt wierd at first, I didn't itch while it was there! I follow up with her in 6 weeks, I am hoping the diet, calmoseptine and other tips I've picked up here are the right recipe to heal this thing without the LIS surgery...
