Colonoscopy made me 10x worse!

Postby Jimoffy » 05 Nov 2017, 12:03

Hey guys I’ve been suffering from an anal fissure or 2 for the last 3 years. Bled when I first got it, then after a few months stopped bleeding and just caused pain, started taking movicol stool softeners last year which really helped with the pain, could do painless bms regularly.

Anyway went to a crs a few months back for it and he suggested I get a colonoscopy to rule out anything else for causing the fissures. So anyway I got this done on Thursday, 4 days ago. I woke up and the surgeon had gone home but the nurse told me all was good, didn’t find anything but a “healed” fissure, which is weird cause I was still getting spasms after pooping.

Anyway after the colonoscopy I got home and I had really bad Anal pain, felt like the fissures were ripped open. Went to the toilet the day after and had excruciating pain, more than I’ve ever had before, and also blood on the stool and paper, which I havnt had for years. Now I’m stuck with bleeding fissures which are 10x worse than they’ve ever been, and no crohns or ibd found. What do I do, I can not work in this condition.

One of the serious complictions of a colonoscopy, though rare, is a bowel perforation. If you are still bleeding by the time you read this, it might be wise to go to emerg.

no, my stomach is fine. The blood is from my Anal fissure. It’s like the colonoscopy made my Anal fissure 10x worse. Pain in the same place, blood because the cut is freshly open

This sounds really awful to deal with and work at the same time. Find yourself a new doctor who can help you heal. Have you been prescribed any kind of ointments like nifedipine or nitroglycerin?
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy

Omg i hate my rear..... the second colonoscopy i had done the doc said just a smal hemmeroid maybe your wiping too hard . I said cmon doc Im 50 not 5 . Then the bleeding got worse the pain sooo intense shards of glass etc.
Im not saying i didnt have a fissure b4 bc they did not see one .
I was finally rush to hospital and had a blood transfusion .
Im about to get anouther.
Ive been bleeding over a year .they started me on diltiziam oint. And iron . Now its getting harder to have bm .
I get spasms and feels like i have to push .
Is that normal for fissures ? How do they fix it ? Sounds wierd but feels like my rectum is so swollsn and puffed out .
I guess my point is I think my surgeon did something to .
I have another one now .who started the cream im not sure what will happen . Im wanderi g if there is a copy of the actual colonoscopy pics etc?
