Alcohol definitely effects my poop ! I do have occasional glass of vine, but I can not deny that it makes my poop more "solid" LOL !

Alcohol doesn't make my poo more solid, it just makes the poo sting a little, like i've put to alcohol directly into the wound or something. Like everything else, it seems to eb a really individual thing.

Thanks everyone, you manage to get things back into perspective. I didn't have any blood today, but its really sore, and hurt for ages after going to the bathroom, although the hot bath helped a lot. I feel like its going to be there forever. I wasnt sure whether to use the diltiazem again or not, but as you've suggested it, I'll start using it again for a while, it certainly helped with the pain before.

Hi Val, It's probably just a new slice in there from poop ?
God, I know the feeling and the feeling of the setback ......
I'm with Lecia, get back on the stool softeners and let it sort out.
Good luck , we're all in this together babe !

I am glad you didn't have any bleeding today. This is probably a little blip that will right itself quickly. I used diltiazem even after they said the fissure was healed so I think it could help.

Do you want me to send you some Miralax? It is gentler than MOM. You can add it to any liquid (hey, even Bailey's) and it softens things up just a bit. Of course you want to start small and see. I will probably take a little for the rest of my life.

Maybe take a small dose of valium if you still have some and that will relax your bottom and help with the pain. I sound like such a pill pusher!

Val, I'm so sorry to hear about your pain. It does sound like a new one. I don't know if that's any comfort, except that the new one will heal like the old one did. and the better news is that with your relaxed sphincter the diltiazem will have more effect.

Dear Val, I am so sorry to hear that you are in pain : (((, that is just horrible ! I am afraid to go to the bathroom this morning although I know I have to : (. Please don't hesitate to take pain meds and everything else that you used before the LIS. I agree with Chris - it has to heal much faster now after LIS. That is one of the reasons I did have LIS - I wanted to make sure that if new fissure ever happens I will not have to be 5 months in pain again ! Oh what a bummer : ((( ! I cant wait for my app. to know what happened there...
Sending you BIG HUG your,

Val -
I am so sorry to hear about all of this! Do you think there is any chance of the old surgical cut causing the bleeding? Do you think its is blood from a hemmie?
Please keep us updated!

Thank you, you're all so sweet!
The pain is slightly less today (touch wood!) Its just so horrible, thinking that it was "cured" and now revolving my life round my butt again. Its such a depressing thought that this could be for the rest of our lives! When it was feeling better I was thinking it was too good to be true... and it was!
Lecia, what is Miralex, I've heard you all mention it, but we dont have it here, or not that I know of, anyhow!

Miralax is a powder that dissolved in any liquid and has no taste that helps to draw more water into the stool. Ted just told me that your package didn't get out yesterday so I'll just redo it and send you a bottle. Just start with a small dose. Does that sound okay?
