LIS or Botox

Postby gjosh111 » 09 Mar 2018, 22:35

Hello All,

I have a chronic fissure for a year and am considering going for Botox or LIS. Any advice, thoughts, opinions will be much appreciated. Have done creams, lotions, sitz baths etc for all of last year. Want to find a solution once and for all.
Hope to hear success stories about either procedures.

Thanks very much!!

You should definitely consider LIS, I myself got it done for chronic fissure and after about two months of it everything feels back to normal. I started feeling better just after a week of undergoing LIS. Thats the best treatment for chronic fissure.

I had Botox about 4 weeks ago. It did not work and the required exam under anesthesia made my fissures worse. My doctor was overly conservative and did not give me enough medicine. That being said, I am still not going to rush into surgery. I am scheduled for a second Botox 3 months after the first. In the meantime I am working with a pelvic floor PT and I think/hope/pray it may help. Good luck.

I too had Botox 4 weeks ago I'm now only getting discomfort during bms but still seeing blood on the bms not sure what that means but if this doesn't work my next step is to have them clean up the scar tissue/ fissure an put in more Botox then maybe one last dose of Botox after that then if I'm still not healed I will get lis. Good luck
