Anal fissure- again

Postby Bkguy2018 » 22 Mar 2018, 16:14

Hello everyone
So last year I had such pain when having a bowel movement. Went to the ER, the doctor thought it was a hemorrhoid. He referred me to a GI, and that guy didn’t know nothing. My PCP told me to go to a specialist. He took a look and said I had a anal fissure which became filled with pus. He recommend a fistulotomy (or whatever it’s called) and the pain would end that day. He would use local anesthesia for the procedure and it only took a few minutes. Well, because I was in such pain, I went with that procedure. It hurt like a MF! But after 15 minutes he was done and I got to go home.
Fast forward now and another developed and it’s right on the outside of the anus, it’s like a little bubble.
I’m hesitant to go back again for this procedure because even though he numbed the area, it still hurt!
Any other way I can get rid of it without seeing the doctor?

Thanks

That really sucks that you're going through the same thing, again. Was the specialist a colorectal surgeon? Unfortunately, I think you need to go back to the doctor. If it's an infection, I'm not sure what you can do at home to take care of it for good.

Yes he is a colorectal surgeon. I think what caused it was I wiped too hard with toilet paper one day.
He was good and honest, also said there’s a chance it might come back.

It's best to switch to using a bidet or wet wipes after having troubles in that area. I hope you can get this fixed in a more permanent way!
8/16-12/16: Fissure due to antibiotics
5/17: Botox to sphincter, fissure healed
9/19: Trigger point injections and pudendal nerve block
11/19: Botox to pelvic floor
8/20: Botox to pelvic floor in new location.
On and off in pelvic physical therapy
