How long do you poop

Postby Camry » 26 Jul 2018, 19:52

Hello there, just want to ask....given that we have af and you want to poop properly do you stay more than 5 minutes in the bathroom after the poop comes out?

My routine would be poop in the morning...this would take me about 5 minutes or when i feel that nothing is there to come out anymore and do my usual routine of sitz bath afterwards and shower...i guess you really have to adjust with this af issue since it does not heal overnight....

Sadly. Since developing this nasty af. I do not remain on the toilet any longer than necessary due to pain. This results in 1-2 more BMs shortly thereafter to fully empty Ordered a Squatty Potty from Amazon. Hoping it helps. Should receive it tomorrow.

I have to stay way too long in the bathroom just to poop.
I would stay on the toilet for like 40-60 mins. The worst part is I have to do this everyday.

How do you know if you have a retear? I go through a cycle where I get slight sharp pain (like glass) followed by maybe some blood, then it clears up, goes away for a few months and comes back. CRS found nothing wrong with my anus.

Squatty Potty has helped reduce toilet time and # of return trips to bathroom. Highly recommend but it takes a little time to get used to an alternative way of having a BM

Exact thing that happens to me...af is trying to heal but one wrong size of bm and youre back at square one. Do you have pain after bms too that last for hours?

I have found that using the Nifedepine cream faithfully 3 times per day. Sitz baths before shower and at bedtime, Senekot stool softener at bedtime and Squatty Potty when feasible for BMs plus at least 96 ounces of water per day has helped reduce the fissure pain immensely. Still some bleeding but spasms are gone. I had a significant sentinel skin tag removed 4 weeks ago and have been dealing with this re tear since early June (third and longest one in 20 years). Previously had gone 8 years between relapses.

No I have almost no pain apart from when I go to the bathroom and even then its not bad, that what is really confusing to me- everyone on here seems like they are in a lot of pain.
