Hey Sue! I go to PT 1x a week for 8 weeks. My CRS originally wanted me going 2x a week for 4 weeks, but my physical therapist changed it after our first appointment. It was really helpful for me because prior to, when I was in the midst of a spasm, I couldn't do anything but wait for it to pass. Now I can at least be proactive by focusing on relaxing the muscles which really does shorten the duration of the spasm and eventually made it so I barely have any at all. The relaxation of the muscles can be done without anyone knowing, so it's made it possible for me to go out in public without feeling afraid I might have a spasm and freak out in front of people. My therapist also taught me exercises to do every morning that keep the surrounding muscles loose and has also helped.

Thanks for replying so quick
That’s fantastic and not that long to see results . It sounds really beneficial - I’m definitely keeping this in mind

Talesofmytail I’m do to start pelvic floor PT the end of February. Just curious how much internal manipulation goes on? Would you object if I private messaged you?

Hey Mark. My CRS did a full exam last week (with scope) to check for healing. It took him almost 2 months of treatment before he did it though. Prior to that, it was just a visual on the outside of my bottom. He said an internal exam would be too painful right out of the gate and was hoping to heal the fissure more with the topical first.

Tales how are you getting on now? I have done one session of PT therapy and wondered if I could quiz you on this treatment as I know you've been doing this. Really want to know if it's helped.
