I know it sounds crazy but what about these pain management clinics that use other strategies to manage your pain levels.

Once again I’m not a doctor and I’d never suggest coming straight off anything you would need to do it gradually. I understand about drinking when I’m low I think wine will help. It usually doesn’t. Of course I don’t suppose you are meant to drink on these drugs either!!

I think you seem a little more positive which I’m really pleased to hear. I think it’s great you are in touch with a pelvic physio. Maybe even just talking to her is part of the process and I’m hoping in time you can see if she can do some gentle work with you. Mine has been so kind and patient.

I already went through the pain clinic
they tried nerve blocks which didn’t help and sent me off with Gabapentin which has terrible side effects

anyways

I have officially started the process of requesting a colon bag and permanent catheter

If they won’t do it here, I can get it done in Thailand

Anyways it appears there are about 8 regular posters left on this board so I’ll exit stage left now and I wish you 8 healing.

I want a Botox or some injection on the muscle

I’ve had two failed nerve blocks

That puborectalus muscle literally closes during bm, then goes into Charlie horse mode, for hours mostly all day. Debilitating pain. Cannot sit, drive

A user here on the board has had very similar symptoms and we are going to talk

I’ve been recommended to try biofeedback in which they put a probe up there and measure the tension...then they teach you how to relax the muscles

It’s a long expensive process but I’m desperate

I know the morphine has made things worse. It’s a double edged sword as it provides some hours of relief but ultimately likely makes things worse, same with alcohol

I’ve been on this ride too long I can’t take the constant pain any longer. Can’t sit can’t walk any distance

Doctors useless

I’ve cleared out my apartment, I’m done

Hi hurtinend, maybe contact your local lifeline or beyond blue. They will be able to help you and then you can get yourself to a hospital and don't leave until you've been taken seriously or given a bag.

Second that. There are people out there who you can turn to. I urge you to contact whatever the organisation is in your country. Pain can drive us to the edge but there is hope.

damn thank you all

The pain is so intense I’m literally going
insane. It’s like someone super heated a
dremel tool and shoved it up my butt

Yes there are countless resources for me in my area, but it doesn’t help my severe pain

No point going to Emergency at any of the
hospitals...my history is long and they just tell me to get back to my family doctor

Does anyone have an idea of what can bring some relief to the rectal pain?

Morphine doesn’t help unless I take way more than I’m allowed (damn was so desperate I bought some on the street)
