No i haven't spoken to anyone about it kn about 2 years the last surgeon said last option is lis an he said it works very well bit hogh risk to woman it would have to be really reall y needed he said so pretty much if i cant handle it an live with it then i can take that risk but he scared me away so I've been trying to live with it. In saying this though he was a general surgeon not a rectal specialist. On a positive note i opened up an told my sister who is like my best friend so that is a weight off my shoulders

Hi Missy that's good you can talk to someone - its' not easy to talk about such personal stuff. It sounds like you need to advice of a rectal specialist to discuss the lis option and the possible risks. I still wonder if a surgeon would want to wait until you had recovered from a recent birth (especially since it was not straightforward with the blood loss etc) before you go into surgery. It sounds like you've been suffering on your own with this a lot so I really hope you can reach out to some medical professionals who you never know might have more ideas two years down the line. keep me posted.

Thanks suemac I'll keep you posted. Breastfeeding must have something to do with slow healing because this fissure has been constantly active for like 3wks now normally while not breastfeeding it heals in 5-10 days heals as in no pain during bms. I've had pain an bleeding for weeks getting really sick of it. Im on tge waiting list to see a surgeon an that takes months so nothing is going to happen any time soon anyway. I hope your doing well

Low oestrogen during breastfeeding and menopause causes slow wound healing

Yes that sounds right, I think you are very vulnerable when you are breastfeeding. Very good for babies though!
As you say you would go on a waiting list so I guess you could consider it. Or wait until your baby is weaned and less on the breast perhaps you will be better. You had a tough birth as well it takes weeks to recover from a difficult birth. Take care.

Yes thanks suemac, my baby is almost 10wks old now and my fissure has been painful and bleed with every bm over the last 3-4 wks it seems endless its just not changing which is abnormal for my fissure an it feels bumpy maybe another skin tag? But inside. My life from birth an sleepless nights has recovered now well pretty much since my little one is sleeping 6hrs straight at night so hopefully that will begin to help my fissure heal and im incorporating more healthy foods back into my life since i fell off the healthy living during my pregnancy due to my cravings. Also im on the waiting list which makes me feel better like somethings happening I'll probably be having pain an pain-free days by then but im pretty sure i wont have a procedure done in the public system but i want to pick their brains about advancement flap. I hope you are doing well suemac. Your so helpful and supportive of so many people on here.

:thankyou:

Hi missy you sounds a lot more positive which is very good news. Baby sleeping six hours is very good for ten weeks brilliant news!
I have to admit I haven’t made time for the forum or posted only to you and one other I stay in touch with. I will try to support others more when I have a moment.
Keep me posted as the weeks go by. I’m sure you will get there in the end as will I to be free from this one day.
