Healing and stopping creams (vaseline)

Postby MrBrokenhelm » 03 Apr 2025, 04:36

Hi All,

It has been awhile, there have been ups and downs.
This week I have been at the doctors which resulted in a wierd situation. He claims he can't see any fissures on the outside, however there is specific point that irritates and triggers tightness.
My own analyse is that the skin has be come very thin and resulting in the top layer easily to tear.
I have been able to control that somewhat with vaseline, however when I try to stop or lessen the more small topic tears show up.

I hope that someone has dealt with something similar and have tips. In my mind it is not healthy keep the skin covered all the time. But the balans between healing and irritation is a difficult one for me.

So any tips or suggestions?

Thanks!

Ok, I had sometime this week to analyse the issue more.

I have noticed the following:

- Wake up, no / mild irritation.
- Breakfast and coffee.
- Toilet time, most of the time this is fine. I feel no pain or irritation at this stage. Clean with neutral wet wipes (no alcohol and PH-neutral)
- Walk for a bit, just to make sure that no hidden dirt remains internally.
- Check myself for cleanes, just to make sure.
- Shower, at the end of the shower rinse with with hand temp water.
- Dry with blower (no heat).
- After being completely dry, I notice that start of the pulling and dry irritated feeling.
- Apply some amount of vaseline, but the issue remains.

It is almost like the skin is dry and irritated, could this be over use of Vaseline? I try to slow down, but am scared to completely stop to make it worse.

(I have contacted the clinic but the could help me via the phone as they are not allowed to, I have to be called back.)

Any suggestions or ideas are more than welcome!

hello, skin feels irritated from too much watering it... I am trying now to see what will happen with only washing down after BM with coldish water and no more hot showers to calm nerves.... also stop vaseline to see what will happen... natural oils from skin give enough protection.... when im very anxious before BM- i apply sometimes olive oil but nothing more....
how amazing must be to do not feel any pain or discomfort with BM! I pray to God for his miracle every day ! and few times a week I get crushed by nervous breakdowns - realising how blessed and happy I was ....
