Thanks for the update. Yeah, I have known people who have taken Miralax for years. I actually saw some over the counter yesterday at CVS so I guess it is available without a presciption.
That is great that your fissure is healed. The superficial tears should heal very quickly. Just do what you need to do to keep it soft so it doesn't turn into something more.

I am happy to hear your fissure has healed, also! You say you're easing up on the diet? OK, just be careful. My understanding is that it can take up to a year for it to heal fully, so it would certainly pay to adhere to the diet as much as you can!
I agree that the stools need to stay soft. Does the Mirilax pull water into the stool (I'm not familiar with it)?

Yes, miralax pulls water into the stool. It's commonly known as PolyEthelene Glycol. It is a prescription drug. So, should not be avaailable over the counter.
