I always got a big kick out of it when I saw my kids stomping the same grounds I did at their age!

I am just so bummed right now - you would think that I would be happy but I am so sad right now. This is just my last resort and I don't know if it will work - my fissure is so weird! I just think it looks so awful that it can't be saved. I think it is so weird that it is mostly on the outside of my bum. The CRS says its internal, but then how come I can see it when I spred the tissue down there? If it is external, how can LIS fix this???
I am sore today and just totally bummed. I am sorry to be so down, but my family is not understanding me today. I just want the LIS now. :( :(
To all the LISers - do you feel your bum is larger now?? Also, have your spasms ever come back?

I understand you are bummed and sad right now. I understand when you are down to your last resort that it can be scary because what if it doesn't work. But the thing is, it will! You have already shown that the creams work since it relaxes your anus to let blood flow down there so this will work like a charm. You are a very good candidate.

My fissure looked like it was external too. It went from internal to external and it could be visualized by just spreading the cheeks. This is normal. In fact most can be seen this way.

A lot of my family doesn't understand how much pain I am in and think I just shouldn't let it bother me so much. They are sick of me having problems. I just want to say, "you think you are sick of it, how do you think I feel?" It is enough to wish for a curable cancer or treatable disease that people can readily identify with. I am so glad I have you guys here or I would have caved long ago.

Try not to stress, Jen. We've got your back and you are going to be better in no time.

My spasm have never come back, Jen. I am not sure what you mean about a butt getting larger? Do you mean the rectum? My rear is no different than it has ever been.
We all understand what butt pain is like here, we can bear with you!

Kim - I guess I am not making much sence, huh? I just ment does your opening feel bigger? When I have a BM, the BM (no matter what the size) feels too big to exit.

Lecia - Thanks for your kind words! I just feel so down today. My fissure seams to be 1/4 internal and 3/4 external this time (everytime it tares it rips in a different spot). I think I am so worried because sometimes I think I am not a canidate for LIS. Now that I am back on the nitro my bum feels loose again and I don't even really have to push to pass gas right now.

My family is just under so much stress with this LIS. I need to get time off school. My husband is going out of town for work a few times this month and I need him home to help out with the baby post LIS. It just seams there is no good time for this surgery - but yet it is my #1 priority. I wish my fissure would have acted up earlier. I could have canceled my vacation last week and got LIS then. But NO - the fissure has no mercy for anything! Image

Kim & Lecia - You guys have been on the board the longest - how many successful LIS have you seen come and go?

Thanks for dealing with me today guys. I am in just one of those bummed out moods today!

No problem! Can you have a family member come out and help? A sister or inlaw? These things never have good timing do they?

You have to quit thinking that you are going to be the exception. There is every reason to believe that you are going to have a successful surgery.

I don't have numbers of successes but there have been quite a few. They get better and usually we don't hear back from them after they heal up.

I get you know, Jen. You are just looser, not bigger there. I meant to mention that. As loose as say, when you were a teenager or whatever, before you had fissure problems!
The tightness is generally the major battle in healing.
With anal dilation, the actual opening is stretched out, forcing the muscles of the rectum to relax...

Thanks Kim, I try not to think about that word !
Intresting that our Fiss mentioned it also stretchs the outer muscle too...
My pain is on the opening ! Image

My fissure sounds like yours, internal and external..
I think you are making the right decision Jen, for the future too when you plan for more babies :)
You have to be in the mind that LIS will fix you, just like it did for Kim and others here......as much as i doubt A/D i have to go with it in the chance i may not suffer like this again...
IMO.... I think beacuse you dont have a skin tag to worry about too that this LIS is going to be straight forward for you...
Please try not to worry
Heres a big hug
