You are very welcome Juney Image ! Dervocet did not make a "dent" in my regularity, but just to be on the safe side until you see how it effects you, take one Colace or something with dinner - Colace is absolutely safe and not habit forming since it does not drive water from the guts but keeps the water that already IS in the guts .
I take only one Colace a day with dinner and all is nice and soft.
Best of luck !!! Image

Do all you can Juney to pull you yourself through this testing time Image i do relate to your housebound activity and the frustration of studying hard and wanting to get to work!
St Johns wort is a very powerful herb my friend swears by it and may just be enough to keep your body and mind in balance !
I asked my GP for the valuim, I told them Val said it helps with spasms Image Image Image
Valuim is really good for the spasms this is the only basis i would take this, not for everday anxiety !
It is going to get better Juney Image

well i got an early appt w/ the dr and he said everything looks good. he did a digital exam which was painful. he said he can feel the scar tissue forming at the incision and that pain from the scar is typical. he said the little pokes and pinches i feel are also normal healing pains and that i may continue to have those kind of pains for awhile b/c of the scar tissue. he said to also maybe expect some itching. i keep waiting for that healing itch! Image
he did prescribe me some more valium but was very hesitant. he wants me to get out of the house more and try to start living normally and take my mind off my butt the natural way. it makes sense i know! :)
i have another appt in 2 more weeks. he wants to watch the skin tag for the next few weeks/months and remove it if it doesn't look like it's withering away. he says it'll be a simple in-office procedure with a little numbing shot. despite the horror stories i've heard, i want him to remove it if it doesn't go away on it's own.
so that's my update. it's been 4 weeks today. once i get my anxiety under control i think i'll be doing well. i feel like i have some form of PTSD. if the anxiety continues i may go see a general dr at kaiser, but for now i'm just gonna focus on positive thinking and a valium here and there Image

Juney,
Who wouldn't have anxiety issues in our circumstances?? They all tell us to lead a more normal life. Good luck!

It is reassuring to get a doctors opinion that you are healing. That always helps me calm down mentally too. You have suffered for years so it isn't a wonder that you have a psychological component to this. I am sure we all do.
But glad to hear you are :healthy:

Geeeeeeeeezzzz, if somebody tickled my butt for a year I would be screaming "STOP ALREADY" Image not to mention all kinds of pain and bleeding and stuff Image !!!! Thanks Lord my CRS understands how painful and frustrating and emotionally scarring it all is Image !!!
Pain is not a feeling one can "get used to" - not made that way !!! It is natural alarm signal to our brain that something is terribly wrong and so unless one has a lobotomy , one can not ignore it and "learn to live with it " !!!! We have to live with it, unfortunately, but it is completely unrealistic to expect a person to pretend all is fine - maybe with the "weed" it would be LOL Image

Juney,
Good news about your check up. My anti-anxiety med was prescribed to my by my gp. I doubt if most crs are up on the latest anti-anxiety treatments.
Juney and Jen,
Have either of you tried Metamucil? and if so, what difference do you see in Metamucil vs. Benefiber?? I don't think I have ever tried benefiber but have been trying to increase my dosage of Metamucil.
Thanks,
Cheryl

cheryl - i tried metamucil pills about 2 years ago. i felt like all they did was bulk up the stool and make it more difficult to pass. benefiber seems to just make things more formed, not bigger. i only take 1/2 teaspoon a day but it seems to keep things from being liquidy.
corsi - i'm doing much better mentally. seeing the dr and hearing his reassurance usually gets me on a "high" for about a week. LOL. i'm hoping i don't crash again, as i don't have another appt for 2 weeks. i'm trying not to let every little "pin prick" and pain bother me now....
thanks everyone for thinking of me!
