Butt pain is not forever!!! I am glad you have been able to refocus from the worry and despair! That's so healthy and so important, Juney. Hang in there and believe in your healing, attitude can go a long way for the immune system.

Image Dear Juney,
I just saw your note that you are not feeling well or healing, I am so sorry to hear this. :(

Just a note to let you know I am praying for you to heal and break free from this pain. Things will get better! You and your parents and Dr will figure something out. Don't give up! Kim is so right, your attitude can really affect your healing and immune system. Be positive and be kind to yourself. This is a bump in the road, but you will get over it.
Take care Juney, hope you are feeling better today!

That is so cool, Juney! I am so glad he did that! And he should know!
i'm doing things to take my mind off it and trying to enjoy being unemployed.

That's the way to see it! Ah heck, Juney, work is for people who don't know how to fish! Image

Image yah kim, maybe i should take up fishing to keep my mind off it! my dad loves to fish.
thanks for the prayers and reassurance jo. i've actually started praying again in the last month. i'm not extremely religious but it does seem to help, in like a meditation sort of way. i need to retrain my brain to not think about my butt 24/7.
anyway i've stopped all my supplements the past 2 days except fiber and stool softeners but i can't seem to stop going twice a day. i go once before breakfast and then take my bath and apply the rectagel and then less than an hour later i have to go again! it's really irritating and painful and i'm not sure how to stop myself from going that 2nd time! any ideas??
thank you all for your support.

Juney -
I am a little behind on the posts and I just read you were feeling badly. How painful are your BM's? Are things better than pre-surgery #3?
I think it is still way to soon to say the procedure did not work. It has only been 6 weeks - give it a few months. I have faith that everything will turn out fine in the end.

Juney,
I guess we should get together because I worry when I think I will only go once a day. Seems we are never satisfied I guess.

Juney, good to know you are feeling more positive now.its nice of your crs to call and reassure you.praying surely helps to keep our minds sane, atleast it does for me.
How many times were you having BMs before the fissure problem?are you able to poop completely at first or do you have to stop due to pain?what stool softeners are you taking?how much fibre do you take?i think its the stool softeners which makes you go twice and also if you are taking too much fibre.are the bms still very painful?take care

Can you drink coffee before you go the first time in the morning?...I have to have my coffee and a lot of water to "empty" myself...
Can you take a little bit less of the fiber and stool softeners?
Is the reason you have to go twice that you have pain during BM and therefore you cannot get it all out? When my fissure was big and ugly, I went 2 - 4 times a day because I had problems getting it all out.

i don't have much pain during BM. i actually haven't had regular pain w/ BMs since i ripped the fissure in july 06 and then again for a few weeks after each surgery. i think b/c it was so chronic, it never bled and didn't cause pain until after the BM. if it's a little harder than usual though, i can literally feel it rubbing against the wound inside and that is painful. for the most part i've been taking sooo many supplements and/or laxatives that things just slide right through. so pain definitely isn't the reason i go a 2nd time. i have no idea why i can't get it all out the first time lately, it feels like i do and i always have before. just this past week has been a little "off" i guess.
i'm taking 1 teaspoon of fiber every afternoon. it doesn't seem like much so i'm not sure if that's the problem. also i'm taking 2 stool softeners. i think tonight i'll try just one of those. i've taken 2 for years now so i thought it didn't really even make a difference. i have no idea anymore!! i just know i need to get the perfect consistency. i've become really strict with my diet in the past week. in addition to not eating dairy or meat and not drinking alcohol, i've stopped eating all citrus and acidic foods, anything i feel might cause inflammation on the way out. my diet is even blander now than it was before but i need to get really serious. i'm still using the recta-gel and will continue til i see the dr in another week. i'm also using Vitamin E ointment on the outside, to help soften the massive amount of scar tissue that's resulted from all this trauma. the dr recommended that.
pinky - before the fissure i went once, maybe twice, a week. I never knew it was a problem to not go everyday. things have changed so much since then that's for sure.
thanks for the suggestions and everything! Image
