I used Nitro after my second surgery ! My CRS said he would rather me not doing it but if it makes me more comfortable that I can use it by all means and I did. It helped me very much during my first 4 weeks post op when I had a lot of spasming going on and a lot of swelling - every little bit of help made a big difference ! Valium +Nitro made me survive all that awful pain :( until it finally relaxed at week 4.

Dear Corsi Image
How are you feeling today? I do hope these transfusions are helping you , how many more will you have to do ?
Your CRS probably suggested to stop the cream as you had the Botox in your defence! I am sure it wont hurt to use the cream just for this week , but let him know you have , I have a reserve tube just incase and will use it if the Botox ends earlier than expected !
I have learnt a lot from our Cheryl ref the fibre supplements and that is too start on a very minuet dose and very slowly but surely work your way up , ask your CRS see what he suggests !
As for PRUNES !!! well I have been experimenting and have ditched my morning banana for prunes …, last week I got carried away and ate 5, I had stomach ache too, I suppose it’s the same case of starting off on a tiny tiny amount, I eat 2 prunes and hey presto it seems to keep the BM soft Image
You are in my prayers sweetheat, praying you have some healing and this next shot will seal the deal Image
As for my code its daft I know but we all know how it is the moment we say things are looking up…best put some in now – “%^&*()”?@{~g~o~~a~w~a~y~~g~r~e~m~l~i~n~s~~

Thank you girls, you are all so nice :lovetree:
I am waiting for my CRS to call me. I want him to know that I am not healed before my appointment next week.
I saw Benefiber at the pharmacy Jen, but even though it said gluten free I don't trust it as it has some wheat in it. I saw Fissy write about this a while ago.
I took a manometry test in august, but since I had Botox then my outer sphincter was weak. My CRS actually considered LIS, but decided against it because of that
Juney, it's the same for me as well...the beginning is painfull and I dread it so...it's a bad circle, because it's difficult to relax and then things get even tighter...what a party :flush:
I may try prune juice, the one they sell as baby food. It's the thing they add to dried fruit that allowes it so stay fresh that gives me stomach pain (what's the word? concervant??). I thought banana is constipating Tabby?
Lecia and Fissy. I will try nitro before my BM tomorrow morning to relax things. I was so happy to get off the nitro after using it for 6 months. I didn't mind the headache, but the dizzyness and low blood pressure I didn't like.
Image Corsica & her big black cat. I sit on my son's computer and she has "disturbed" me when trying to type this very eloquent Image reponse. She is one big furbaby! Some would say fat, but that's insulting. She is actually on slimming diet food, but she doesn't know that, so don't tell :)
Take care all of you Image

Mmm Image bananas and constipation – I have always thought so too Corsi and avoided them for a long time , I think Kim likes his bananas and I thought what the heck and tried them, I don’t think it made any difference to my BMs but just maybe they do firm up the stool Image

Bananas! Do they cause constipation? Yeah!
Bananas! Do they cause constipation? Nope!
The verdict on the banana is split -- get it, banana split? :)
If you research the topic, you will get confused, or at the very least, find the information to be very conflicting. They are a treatment for diarrhea, which may lead some to assume they stop you up.
Let's face one fact, a typical banana can provide almost 10% of your daily fiber needs. About 3 grams! Fiber is anti-constipating. Dwell on that for a moment. Forget the high nutrient value and the fact that it is fat free. There are some carbs involved in every chimp's fav food....
Now, I eat an apple and a banana every single day. While I do have the occasional hard stool -- I am never, ever constipated. At least, like, not going at all-type constipated. Most mornings I spend two minutes max sitting there, but if I have a second BM later on, it can be a bit slower. Maybe 5 minutes max.
So believe what you want to about the fleshy yellow fruit, I don't see them as constipating but if you want you'll find sources that insist they are...and just as many sources that state categorically that it's a myth!!

For me bananas are not constipating either, but I really am never constipated . I have a friend who has a toddler with serious constipation problems ( he is on Miralax, what more I need to say : ((. She said that green bananas are constipating and ripe ones are not . I think that green bananas maybe have more pectin and can be more "sticky" - I don't know. Maybe bananas help with diarrhea just by having some nutrient that acts "calming" and soothing to intestinal mucous membranes and not actually "stiffening" feces. Bananas are one of the first fruits offered to babies when they start a solid food and they than must be very easily digestible. I eat at least one b. a day - yummy : )))))

My mother in law told me once that bananas are supposed to be good for const or diarhea. I know they are really good with lots of potassium. Maybe Pinky knows.

Bananas are good for almost everything !!! PMS, HBP, energy, anemia, mild depression, stomach ulcers - you name it Image And if in doubt, one can alway make a smoothy with some added fiber , or just eat them in fruit salad Image or as a topping for a whole grain cereal Image
