When you traveled with your fissure and salad bowl, was it difficult for you to sit?????
Cheryl

It was uncomfortable to sit and walk too much. On the trip down I was lucky to be able to lie down on three seats as the plane wasn't full. We weren't able drive around and see as much as we normally do, but my family was happy that we could go...we have cancelled so many things this last year because of me. I spent the days by the pool or on the beach reading, etc.
I would say that we had a good time in spite of me and my butt, It was nice to be somewhere else than home for a change. I would do it again, even with a fissure....have booked next years trip to Corsica already. Hope that may darling fissure doesn't join me there....

Corsi,
What is difficult for me is controlling my diet while away from home. I have expanded my diet lately, but still watch everything pretty closely. Thanks for answering my question.

Thanks Tabby and Jo.I did have a good time meeting new friendsday before yest.i had to be careful of what i ate though.yesterday,i had some rice which wasnt too soft and a bit spicer than the normal bland food i eat and i had 3 BMs this morning.the first one was well formed and large and it hurt a bit during and after BM.it burnt a lot.next 2BMs were soft but felt very sore.was so scared for a while wondering if i tore the fissure but the pain subsided.have to remember never to go off the fissure diet which im getting bored of.im just tired of counting the glasses of water ive had and the fibre content.wish i could not worry so much about the water and fibre foods for a day.

Pinky -
i am so sorry things have not been going better for you. Do you think the LIS has helped at all? Even a little? I can totally relate to everything your going through, we all can! I wish I did not have to plan my life around water & fiber - geez I feel like I am 80 years old sometimes. You will heal pinky - I keep thinking about how buttgirl took 7 months post LIS to heal. Maybe that how long it will take us - there will be an end to all this.

Dear Jen,LIS has definetely given me my life back and wish they'd operated earlier.I used to have horrible spasms for hours and i was in pain 24/7.the spasms are gone, just mild pain and soreness and burning.i still cant sit on my bum directly.its been 6 weeks and i feel im healing too slowly.i did have the infection,im hypothyroid,so the healing will be slower.im also not able to have sitz bath due to irritation caused by leaking.Im using the A&D ointment and it helps a lot.can i put it on the wound as well?
maybe i should stop complaining and leave my butt to heal.there are many others here with much more problems than me.
Do you have any pain after and during BMs?how do you feel rest of the day?
hope you feel better soon Image

Yes, you can put A&D ointment on the wound. I did it for months and months. Just focus on how far you have come and how your bad days now are like how your good days used to be. That is what Kim told me when I first joined and it made a lot of sense.

Glad you got to joing the land of the living for awhile. That has got to give you a good mental boost.

Take care!
