Thanks Kim! And 100% agreed! I'll do ANYTHING to get rid of this fissure, and am glad to hear that I seem to be making some progress, if only by inches at a time. Recently I could tell that the spasm seemed to be reduced, because when applying the nitro or nifedipine, I noticed that I've been able to get the finger further "up there". In fact I can get it pretty high up and don't even need to use a syringe to shoot in the ointment anymore.
The CRS did have to do a rectal exam using her finger and that irritated the area a bit last night, but I guess she has to do these things to assess progress...
Anyhow I'm definitely STOKED and have been adding a bit more solid food to my diet in the hopes of slowing down the rate of weight loss. I'm definitely going to stay on the Valium a while longer and the creams for probably waaayyy longer even if I do get substantial healing (which hasn't yet happened but I'm hoping it'll happen soon).
Babies are due within the next 2-3 weeks now and I'm just happy I don't have to worry about racing to completely fix the fissure before they arrive. At the state it's in now, the fissure is manageable so long as I'm careful what I eat and am close to a bathroom at most times :) I don't know if it's the Valium, the nitro and nifedipine, or the diet, but something is making some kind of difference, which is WORLDS better than when I first posted on this forum!
Now let me cross my fingers and hope I'm not jinxing myself now :)
