Hi, people! i'm very happy I've found this place.
I've been suffering (and still am...) with fissures for over 2 years now, and had a LIS with fissurectomy about 4 weeks ago (still healing).
I'm from Sгo Paulo, Brazil and am 25 years old.
Well, now to the questions:
1- Does it take so long to heal? Shouldn't I be all happy around one month after surgery already? Still taking antibiotics as well as mineral oil, kollagenase ointment and sitz baths (which are so terribly bothersome)...
2- This one might sound a little offending for some, but, well... I've used the search box and no option was given to me but to start what probably is a whole new subject in the forum: I'm a gay man and I have been refraining from being the passive during sex for all of this time. Not only I'm getting bothered by the lack of options, but I also have now found the man I want to share a life with and as comprehensive he is, I understand that at some point he'll want to "switch sides", so... Should it take long for me to use my ass for intercourse?

2- you might try other forum for your second question :roll: We have only one gay member and he never practiced anal intercourse. My best bet is that you will find much more info on another forum.
Although we mention sex at this place ,we never share graphic details or techniques publicly, so maybe you can show some "restraint" in that aspect.

About the anal intercourse...
Don't know whether this is just me or applies to everyone with or has had a fissure/rectal problems.. Most of the time I find it difficult enough to just pop my finger inside the rectum (and that's on a good day) during a very active fissure this would be near impossible because of the pain and spasms, personally, even if I was fully healed I would never insert anything bigger than my finger in the rectum (also nothing bigger coming out), there's no way i'd want to risk a re-tear of the fissure or even new fissures due to the stretching, so my answer to you BR would be refrain from any kind of sexual activity that involves the anus/rectum permanently, as harsh as it sounds, that's my opinion, it's just not worth the risk involved

InloveBR, I think perhaps it would be best if you started that "whole new subject" on a more adult-oriented forum and Fissulyna is correct, we do mention sex here but do try to keep things "family-safe," so to speak.
You may want to wait up to a year or longer before resuming said activities because it takes that long at the least for the anal membranes to regain their integrity even though you may feel fine in a month or two...

Ditto here, I think subject #2 would be very, very difficult with a fissure. If even the normal act of passing stool hurts so much, I can't imagine what that would be like Heck even applying ointment to the anal area or trying to pass wind caused severe pain when my fissure was acting up.
As for subject #1, healing, I think most folks here will tell you that fissures take very, very, vvveeerrry long to heal. You mentioned that you had LIS and fissurectomy about a month ago -- I haven't had either myself but understand from other members' posts that it can take well over a month to heal even after having those procedures. It sounds like you're on the right track there, but should definitely take care to keep the area safe from any possible injury for longer :)
