Thanks happyass, I don't want to ever go through that again, the pain was way off the scale, and yeah i'm feeling ok at the moment, just getting a little pain after BM but nowhere near as uncomfortable as before, early days though on Diltiazem..

Hey kyriakos, I like the way they told you that it's only 2mm and should be easy to pass, they mustn't realise that your urethra isn't really made to pass solid waste..
As for the laxative abuse, I didn't think that would cause stones, you must of been losing essential fluids or something Image I think mine were caused by dehydration, can't be sure though, anyway I drink about 2L of water a day now, so keeps the kidneys flushed and also helps with BM,s to keep this damn fissure at bay!

lol here in the States I picked mine up from the local drug store (i.e., Chemist). I take it yours didn't know what it was? Image
If you can't find it locally I guess you could always try Amazon UK:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sitz+bath&x=0&y=0
That first one up there looks pretty similar to the one I have.

looking at my own link, it looks like maybe they call it a portable bidet over there instead of sitz bath?

Haha yup the toilet shape and size are both different. The link above is from Amazon UK though, I'd expect the merchandise on there to be suitable for use in the UK...
A search on Google UK for "portable bidet" shows a lot of pics of what I'd call a sitz bath, so I'm guessing that must be what it's typically called over there:

Sorry to hear that :( Nope I haven't had surgery, still suffering and hoping I won't have to. My fissure symptoms wax and wane, some days it's real bad and other days it's no big deal, so I'm having a hard time committing to surgery. Every time I'm about ready to take the plunge, things improve for a bit, and then they go bad again, and the cycle just continues.
I've taken opiate painkillers (oxycodone and codeine) and adding a little extra Miralax has always been able to ward off constipation for me. But yeah taking those definitely suck when you have a fissure.
Have you got a surgery date already?
