Its now been 4hrs since op, got home 2 hrs ago, ride home was a bit weird ha. Had the enema which was as bad as a thought. Feel good atm but I know I still have pain meds in my system so I am sure I will feel it tonite. I have got some kind of ward up my butt feels weird and a lot of pressure. I think I will have a bath to clean the area coz there is some blood which I guess is normal.
Is there anything I should know about the next 12hrs???
Stressing about tomorrow and tonite a bit

Congratulations New mum!!!! You are on your way to recovering from the stupid fissure now Image
The pressure is normal and yes so is blood. If you have any packing it will cause some discomfort before it's removed. I had guaze pressed up against the outside of my anus, not sure if you have some inside or out but as soon as its removed you will feel a little better.
Take it easy and just rest today, take your meds as needed and hopefully you will be taking some warm baths today once you have the packing removed...
You will be sore, but should see gradual improvements. Remember count weeks, not days:) You just had surgery and it will be sore, but no spasms and fissure pain now!!!
So happy for you and yay- the enema wasn't bad!! For me nothing about my surgery was as bad as I thought it would be! I was just horrified about the whole situation and was pleasantly surprised with how much better it was than I anticipated!!

Mine wasn't inside, so I was told I could remove it in the bath which I was told I could take the following day after my lis. If yours is inside , it should pass with your first bm, I suppose.

My padding was inside, I passed it the following morning, felt like a huge poop, I also lost a bit of blood which is normal, once it's passed you'll be relieved of the pressure but expect to be sore.

Now I am 42hrs since lis, finalllllllyyyyyyyy passed the padding thing it just fell out when I went to pee. I have a very small bowel movement that was hard and would have killed before surgery, but it was really nothing maybe a slight sting. I am still waiting for the really pain to come.........
I am unsure if I should up my stool softeners, I didnt take them before the lis and everything was soft. So I dont know if the hard bowel movement was from the surgery or I should start doubleing the stool softeners?????
The worst part so far stillllllll is the unknown!

Hey New mum,
I had some harder bm's a couple of days following my surgery. I'm pretty sure it was the vicodin(pain meds) because I hadn't changed anything else I was doing. I'm scared to give you bad advice and tell you to up the stool softeners when you may have had a hard bm because it's been awhile since your last bm.
Maybe you could gradually increase the softeners and see how it does, and if the next bm is still a little too firm, then take more.
It sounds like you are doing great! I think this is about as sore as you will be so don't think it will get worse!!!:)

Thanks dawn I think thats a good idea about the stool softeners. What did u use to wash the area with or if anything.i havent used any soap or wash since I have just been cleaning with the shower hose and salt baths. The time of the month is paying its visit so its hard to keep that area dry and clean. Touch wood I have not had any accidents, I wonder if it could still happen?
I have not been sitting at all which is a pain but when did u all start sitting again??
Thanks

Hey New mum,
I just did the shower and bath to keep clean. I never used soap. I've heard it's not good to use soap there. When I felt brave enough to touch it, I used cotton that I wet w/ warm water. I know what you mean about the monthly, mine came right after too. I wasn't sure if that may have caused the harder than normal bm, either.
I never had any accidents either. Just some leakage and drainage from the area.
I didn't set on my bottom for two weeks. I probably could have earlier but just decided not to add any pressure on my behind while it's healing. I still kind of set on one side and not directly on my bottom unless I'm driving. I think it would be a good idea to stay off of it as long and as much as you can. There's a lot of swelling and added pressure just seems like it may take longer to get better to me. Others may disagree but I feel like this has really helped me. I just pamper my butt as much as I can and wanted to keep moving forward and so far it's been all good :)
