Haha yup I got my yeast problem after soaking in the tub all the time too. I had LIS, then afterward I kept soaking in hot water about 4-6 times a day, and then BAM a few weeks later came the yeast infection ... which I still have over half a year later despite boatloads of fluconazole plus all manner of topical creams. I actually blow dry the "affected area" also and that's supposed to help, but hasn't done the trick in my case.
You and I are both clinging to the solace of soft poop, I suppose :) It's definitely the one thing "down there" that's going right too.

Do you still take baths anyway NG, or have you had to give them up? I've heard a heat pad to sit on can help, but it seems like nothing would beat a hot soak. I'd love to hear the doctor tell me that it'll be just fine to contine with taking baths, but I know that I'm kidding myself!

I gave up the baths for a while. But after I figured that the problem was just going to recur no matter what, I decided to resume the baths. Don't laugh but I'm getting circumcised next month in an effort to cure the problem once and for all. Not exactly an option for women and not exactly something I wanted to get done, but there you have it :)
I also tried all kinds of other non-drug based remedies. Epsom salt, tea tree oil, garlic pills, probiotics: you name it, I tried it. The baths are nice for the ol' rear but I'd say ditching them in exchange for getting rid of yeast/fungus is definitely a tradeoff worth making!

Wow! That is drastic, isn't it! It'll be worth it though. And, circumcision has certain ... ahem ... other advantages, so thats something to feel cheeful about, right? :D
I had thought about trying probiotics, but I'm a bit skeptical about them. I guess you didn't find them helpful. I will consult wikipedia as it knows all.

Very very late to this but I'm so glad I found this thread! I thought the thrush/fissure connection was just been me being paranoid but now I get it- all the baths. I've had thrush about four times in the past few months.
As a tip for anyone still suffering live natural yoghurt works wonders too. :)
Does Rectogesic cause thrush too then? That's interesting as when I had a break from it last month it was due to irritation and when my GP tested it came up as a yeast infection. Yesterday I started taking it again and find myself with thrush again...

I am also late to this! I had a course of extremely strong antibiotics which caused thrush. This has been followed by a fissure, I have used rectogesic and had lots of baths and have had thrush for about 2 months non stop. I found the fluconazole helps, my doc said to have one per week. She's also given me pessaries, don't knwo if this helps!
