sheri, I was having many issues and the fissure wasnt healing anymore. I had a retear and the dr wanted to get me back in for more botox. I also had hemmys banded the second time. I may not have needed the second botox if I had not had the Fistula. After that was cut open, there was a Long trench, like a monster sized fissure. That healed, but the actual fissure didnt.
I am presently feeling fine, and at my next appt. 1 week away, i hope its a done deal. I am ready to get my life back. I am not having the "issues" I had after the 1st surgery.....
Good luck to you

i have a few questions, as i'm preparing for my second fissure surgery at the end of february. my first one was back in may and, although it helped with the pain a bit, it definitely didn't heal the fissure.
you said in a past post that you had a fissurectomy? i know that's different from a sphincterotomy. for a fissurectomy doesn't the doctor actually cut out the fissure instead of just slicing the sphincter? i'm not having spasms, just pain and soreness, so i've been wondering why my surgeon hasn't mentioned or considered a fissurectomy instead. was your second surgery a sphincterotomy or fissurectomy?
do you still have any pain now that the fissure has healed over?
sorry for all the questions! i'm just concerned b/c my first surgery was unsuccessful. i'm tired of going thru this :(
