That's nice to hear, everyone tells me he will one day be normal again I just can't believe we've come to this! I hope to be his best friend again someday.

I read recently that teenagers have different brain chemistry and don't think like normal people ... I believe it! You'll be best friends again soon. As long as there is love in the relationship, the friendship will recover from the rough patches. Image

Hi Bambi,
I'm two months post-LIS, and sometimes, with a little bit softer stool, the sensitive skin around my anus gets rubbed raw when I wipe, to the point where there is even a little blood from abrasions. I find that Bag Balm helps soothe it right up. Also, I am not against having a nice warm shower right after a bowel movement to clean up instead of wiping. I remember my 4th week post-LIS -- I got "diaper rash" so badly that I had huge bleeding wounds around my anus. My whole crack was bright red from about two inches above my anus to about 3 inches below it. YOUCH!!! Bag balm and corn starch got me over that mess in about a week and a half, but I learned a valuable lesson -- DO NOT SCRATCH YOUR BUTT!!! Or at least, don't go at it with a rake, pitchfork, and cattle prod if you have a little itch.
I still spot a little bit, but I consider it a very minor inconvenience compared to pre-LIS hell. Keep your chin up, and just remember -- your butt is in a lot better shape than it was before! Celebrate!
Semper Fi,

Matt
