Tried probiotics, live yoghurt, pessaries, oral tablet, cream, am on the candida diet (getting a bit tricky with fissure and IBS though!!!), microwaving pants and towels to kill it. Don't know what else to try! :)

Aww, heck! Perhaps it isn't thrush then? An allergy, maybe? Image

Time you got ur urine sampled? The pill can cause thrush symptoms too? And as do anti biotics, pregnancy and hell stress! You certainly are stessed with all this. Who can blame you! Glad swab done and work is sympathetic!! How did your counselling go? Be good for you to off load! Good luck tmrw and don't push yourself too hard! Your body needs you to give it tlc right now.

No I'm not diabetic Val, the test results will hopefully show what it is. I have had a few urine samples done, all the tests in the world have come back clear! Counselling was good this week, talked about stuff then yesterday morning absolutely sobbed my heart out. But was good (if you know what I mean) - felt better after, amazing what you store up and don't even realise! Just did the morning at work today, and doing the morning tomorrow then speaking to the deputy tomorrow to sort out what to do next week. Considering I've been off, everyone was so lovely when I went in. They are aware I have a hospital appointment soon so they said we'll take it day by day and play it by ear. Feel so much better, kinda got over a mental hurdle there. I am taking it easy Andrea, no point in making myself worse again. Hope you've had a good day :)

Jenny, I would definitely get a swab done. My results came back normal and clear, my doc looked today and said there is no sign of thrush. Yet I am still sore and getting stinging so she has given me some medication for nerves. She said she doesn't know but what it is exactly, but with everything I've had down there it could be the nerves are aggravated. Good news as that means I probably don't have it round my anus and that is just linked to the fissure and application of cream. Hope you got on ok with your swab Image

Sue, yes i have had a swab done of vaginal region and yes there was yeast. i have not had a swab done of anal region, and i am not sure how they look for yeast in that region or if you have it there what they do for it. i am going to ask my doc that when i see her. i am going to a natropath doc for the yeast problems that i have because i have had them for many months. i was put on a antifungal drug 1 month ago and it seems that is helping me. i hope.

Sue I'm so so sorry to hear you're feeling so low! Hows things been today?
I know you've dealt with this f*cking thrush thing for so long, its so unfair for you on top of everything else. Canesten for me made thrush ten times worse which was weird as before I got this fissure it used to work for me. I've always been convinced theres been some connection between the fissure and the thrush. Think for it to be that bad it MUST be some kind of connection beyond just taking lots of hot baths and be more to do with the creams we have to take.
Stay strong and remember this WILL get better. I know you've had to deal with this for so long and it's miserable but it's NOT going to be forever. In time you will feel better and you can look back on this time and feel glad it's all in the past. Image

Sue. What a nightmare yeast is eh? I got yeast overgrowths on my tongue, groin and my privates. In addition to topical cream I've had some success with these http://www.amazon.com/Accuflora--Probiotic-Acidophilus-Supplement-240/dp/B000LJCOWW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1315265325&sr=8-4 but it looks like you've already gone down this path. These things will pass, just hang on in there!

It is a relief to be honest, at least it means its not ongoing. It certainly looks like thrush so not sure whats going on, the tablets from the doc seem to help. Fissure wise I'm ok, having good days and bad days but actually being in work helps. A good distraction!! Just doing mornings is enough at the min, but occ health said they can help too. Got to ring them after my hospital appointment next week, if they recommend botox will try and get it done asap. Jenny, I have been told garlic tablets help thrush so you could try that. Thank you Seattlesounders, good to know I am not alone! How's things going with you Layla? Have you seen anyone yet? Image
