jenny, i totally understand what u mean. i had this experience too, when i first get to see a specialist on a subsidized rate... i told him i have anal fissures and v v painful, he bloody hell try to stick a protoscope into me! I was lying there, growling with pain and then he gave up, asked his senior doc to come in and take a look. The senior doc just simply part my butts and saw the fissure!! He even pointed out to his young specialist that i shldn't have the protoscope as it will tear my fissure more!
i TELL U... from that day onwards, i MAKE SURE i'll nv ever see that young specialist anymore!!

It is just incredible to me the pain and discomfort inflicted upon patients by ignorant medical professionals! It's so wrong! When i saw my GP about my fissure first and she was getting ready to examine me, I saw her put gloves on and asked what she was going to do. I made sure she knew that i was in serious pain and got assurance that she wasn't going ti do anything more than gently spread the area a bit. I did the same thing when I saw my surgeon. From what i read the drs should be able to tell from our symptoms and non probing exam. I should mention that I had done the self diagnosis thing before seeing the docs so I went in with the idea that it was a fissure. If I hadn't, who knows how it would have gone for me.

i understand what you are saying rosa. it seems like it is real hard to find a good crs that actually cares and knows what they are doing. it has been a constant struggle for me to find a doc here that can help me. they always want to refer me out to another doc such as a gastro thinking that i have something else wrong with me. the gastro i went to told me thru the colonscopy and small bowell follow thru that there is nothing wrong such as IBD.
