Well, I am pretty convinced that I may have pelvic floor dysfunction. These are my symptoms, and I hope that someone can chime in with any comments or advice. Thanks.
Since having my son 10 months ago I have been in constant pain in the perenial area. I suffered a great trauma to that area during delivery which included forceps and a large episiotomy after many hours of pushing and having an enema. Since then, this is how I feel.
1. I know I had anal fissures and have been seeing a CRS. Since then I no longer have scraping pain or bleeding during bowl movements. However, my anal sphincter is still in spasm and very tight making it feel like my colon is constantly full. I have had botox twice, and it doesn't seem to feel any looser. I am wondering if it's not my anal muscle that needs the botox, but rather my perenium????
2. My perenium is tight and feels like there is a knot in it near my episiotomy., It burns and feels very achy.
3. sex is too painful. It feels so tight; which doesn't make sense to me because I had a 9 pound baby, you would think it would be looser.
4. My lower back is constantly sore and when I lay in bed on my side, my hips feel very achy like they aren't in the right place almost.
I've been doing some reading online about PFD and the symptoms sound so much like mine. I just hate to get LIS to find out that even though my anal muscles are too tight, that they aren't the only ones that are in spasm and have it not work. Can anyone chime in if you experience PFD. I am going to make an appointment on Monday to see my doctor and get an exam done. I'm hoping maybe a specialist or physio will help because this pain has to end.
