Hi
I developed an anal fissure post breast cancer surgery. Chemotherapy has started and I'm finding it easier to deal with that than the pain from my fissure.
I've seen a specialist who has given me Rectogesic which I've been using for a couple of weeks, and i've recently started taking warm baths (3 times a day). I'm on a stool softener and am taking metamucil (3 times a day). I know this seems extreme, but chemo can make you really constipated. I also seem to have developed a sentinel pile. I'm very down about all this as specialist has advised me healing of a fissure is difficult and being on chemo slows down healing as well.
I just wondered if anyone else out there has been in the same position and what helped them.
Thanks
Hi Greenleaf .. I'm still under chemo too, and that is what I was told that chemo does constipate :*(.. I've been reading as much as I can in this forum and asking questions as to what is good to eat for softer bm's and as you probably are aware - that we can't eat just anything while taking chemo since our immunity is lowered by it
but hang in there sweetie.. read as much as you can here and learn - that's what i have been doing and learning alot.. God bless you and give us all our health soon.. Hugs..
